Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to all products and services purchased through our Careers for Accountants platform and processed via Paystack, including membership subscriptions, career coaching services, and digital downloads.

By completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.

 1.⁠ ⁠Our Products & Services

We offer the following product lines:

1. Membership Subscriptions

Ongoing access to digital content, tools, resources, communities, or services delivered online.

2. Career Coaching Services

Professional coaching services delivered digitally (e.g., one-on-one sessions, group sessions, recorded sessions, assessments, or career guidance materials).

3. Digital Downloads

Downloadable digital products such as PDFs, templates, guides, frameworks, videos, or other non-physical content.

All products are delivered digitally and are considered supplied once access, booking, or download is made available.

2.⁠ ⁠Eligibility for Refunds

Refunds may be considered under the following limited circumstances:

2.1 Technical or Access Issues

• Verified technical faults on our side that materially prevent access to the product or service.
• Corrupted or inaccessible digital files that cannot be reasonably remedied.

2.2 Duplicate or Erroneous Charges

• Duplicate billing or incorrect charges caused by system or payment processing errors.

2.3 Misrepresentation

• Where the product materially differs from the description provided at the time of purchase.

2.4 Cooling-Off Period (Where Applicable)

In accordance with Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act), customers may request a refund within 7 calendar days of purchase for unsolicited electronic transactions, provided that:
• The product or service has not been materially accessed, downloaded, or used, and
• No substantial value has already been delivered.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used via Paystack.

 3.⁠ ⁠Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:

3.1 General Non-Refundable Conditions

• Requests submitted more than 7 calendar days after purchase.
• Change of mind after access, download, or use has occurred.
• Failure to cancel a subscription before the next billing cycle.
• Inability to use the product due to user-side factors (device compatibility, internet access, scheduling availability, or personal circumstances).
• Promotional, discounted, or bundled offers unless legally required.

3.2 Membership Subscriptions

• Once access to the membership platform has been granted.
• No partial or prorated refunds for unused time.

3.3 Career Coaching Services

• Coaching sessions that have already taken place.
• Missed or unattended sessions without the required notice period (if applicable).
• Dissatisfaction with advice, guidance, or subjective outcomes.

Important Employment Disclaimer
Participation in career coaching does not guarantee employment, promotions, salary increases, or job offers.
Failure to secure meaningful employment, career progression, or specific outcomes does not constitute grounds for a refund.

3.4 Digital Downloads

• Once a digital product has been downloaded, accessed, or unlocked.
• Due to the nature of digital goods, downloads are non-returnable and non-refundable, except where defective or legally required.

 4.⁠ ⁠Subscription Cancellations

4.1 How to Cancel

Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time by:
• Logging into your account and cancelling via the billing section, or
• Contacting our support team at [insert support email]

4.2 Effect of Cancellation

• Cancellation prevents future billing only.
• Access remains active until the end of the current billing period.
• No refunds are issued for unused days within a billing cycle.

 5.⁠ ⁠Timeframe for Refund Requests

All refund requests must be submitted within 7 calendar days of the original transaction date.

Requests submitted after this timeframe will not be eligible unless required under South African law.

6.⁠ ⁠Refund Request Process

To request a refund, customers must:

• Full name
• Email address used for purchase
• Paystack transaction reference or payment ID
• Clear reason for the request
3. Allow up to 3 business days for review

Incomplete requests may delay processing.

7.⁠ ⁠Refund Method & Processing Time

• Approved refunds are processed via Paystack to the original payment method.
• Processing time typically ranges from 3–10 business days, depending on the customer’s bank or card issuer.
• We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party financial institutions.

 8.⁠ ⁠Chargebacks & Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us before initiating a chargeback.

Unwarranted chargebacks may result in:
• Immediate suspension or termination of access
• Restriction from future purchases

This policy is designed to align with Paystack dispute and chargeback requirements.

 9.⁠ ⁠Compliance with South African Law

This policy operates in accordance with:
• The Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
• The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act)

Nothing in this policy limits or overrides statutory consumer rights under South African law.
